here are some steps listed to enhance the possibilities of having a sleep paralysis.
-try sleeping at unusual hours
- take naps often (once everyday at around 2 PM is perfect)
-wake up an hour earlier than usual and take a nap afterwards ( 15 minutes after your waking up).
-move into another house
-become sleep deprived ( no sleep within a period 48 hours (not recommended))
-become stressed
-sleep facing upwards
Sleep paralysis might also be triggered as a result of symptoms from several diseases related to sleep problems such as narcolepsy, cataplexy and hypnagogic hallucinations.Morevover, several persons could experience hallucinations during paralysis, ranging from hearing sounds of footsteps to witnessing strange shadowy figures hovering upon the sleeper.
These figures the sleepers see as a result of the paralysis could be a possible explanation for the ghost sightings and alien abductions reported by several people throughout the world ; Sleep paralysis can be that terrifying and realistic. So realistic in fact it induces the sleeper into thinking he really had a visit from some fearsome and imaginary (although they seem so real) creatures.
The reason for all this panic ? It's simple: sleep paralysis, unlike dreams, has the sleeper (although he's not quite sleeping anymore at that time) being counscious of his state, his surrounding, the fact that he's awake as well as his inability to move (except for his eyelids which can be moved at will). Moreover, the hallucinations are directly pasted onto the clear background ( if the person opens his eyes), think of them as some tiny stains on a lens you'd think are part of a picture( I.E I don't remember a fly landing on my camera.....odd) . That's what makes sleep paralysis so fearsome. I wish you a good night.
